After a very long Covid break (due to lack of writing motivation) it's a pleasure to be back in the world of the poet! First off, spending the winter scribbling, but then also partnering up with a feedback-buddy (thanks Patricia) in order to have fresh eyes on newly written material. Of course every writer needs a trusted confidante who lets her know that the writing isn't pure shite? And what's the next step? Why a weeklong retreat with the amazing Lorna Crozier. See poppies from the garden at Wintergreen Studios (north of Kingston, Ontario, Canada www.wintergreenstudios.com) and know that much more than vegetation flourished there. At this point, I'm writing, editing and submitting just as in the before-times. Then added (both in June and in August) is the wonderful experience of reading in public. Thanks to Patrick Meade and Lisa Reynolds, I've been delighted to present recent work at both the Station Gallery (Whitby, Ontario, Canada) and at an Open Mic at Goldies Cafe (Ajax, Ontario, Canada). Although it feels like infant steps, I'm re-entering the world of the living (poet)! There is a new poetry collection in the offing, but more on that in another post (I promise)...For now, happy writing!!! Upcoming Public Event
